Kingdom Character (Week 1)
Preacher: Daniel Erasmus
Worship:
Start by listening to “Build My Life” by Housefires or Passion. As the song plays, reflect on what it means to build your life on Jesus, and ask:
“What part of my character needs to become more like His?”
Check-in:
This past Sunday we started our new series called Kingdom Character.
What stood out to you from the message? Was there something God spoke personally to you about your own character?
Synopsis of message:
Ps Daniel shared that Kingdom Character is about becoming like Jesus. It’s not about trying harder or ticking boxes. It’s about staying surrendered and connected to the Holy Spirit — because the fruit of the Spirit is evidence that God is at work in us.
We also heard that this series is not about external behaviour, but internal transformation. The fruit isn’t something you fake — it grows as you stay close to Jesus. And when we reflect the King, we carry His Kingdom.
Scripture Focus:
- Galatians 5:16–23
- Ephesians 3:17–19
- John 14:15
- Galatians 1:6–7
- Galatians 5:4
Discussion Questions:
- Real Fruit, Real Faith
- Ps Daniel said the fruit of the Spirit shows what’s really going on inside of us.
What kind of fruit is growing in your life right now? What do you think that says about your spiritual health?

- From Performance to Surrender
- Many of us grew up thinking we had to earn God’s love by being good.
Have you ever lived out of that mindset — and what changed when you realised you were already loved?
- Many of us grew up thinking we had to earn God’s love by being good.
- What Does the World See?
- We heard that the world is hungry for something real — not opinions or rules, but love, kindness, gentleness, peace.
How can your character reflect Jesus more clearly in your everyday world (work, home, school, relationships)?
- We heard that the world is hungry for something real — not opinions or rules, but love, kindness, gentleness, peace.
Prayer Moment:
Take a moment in silence first. Ask: “Holy Spirit, what are You showing me about my heart?”
Then pray together:
- For a fresh revelation of God’s love
- For a deeper surrender to the Spirit’s work
- For fruit to grow — not forced, but naturally, as you stay close to Jesus
Next Step:
What’s one fruit of the Spirit you sense God wants to grow in your life?
Write it down. Put it somewhere visible this week — and pray: “Holy Spirit, do a deeper work in me.“
