Synopsis of message: Spiritual Warfare
Tony Nzanza landed the series “Let’s Chat About It” with a message on Spiritual Warfare. He highlighted an important aspect of spiritual warfare in Ephesians 6:12, where it states that our battle is against spiritual forces in the heavenly realms. The only way to fight these forces is to equip ourselves with the Armour of God, found in verses 13-18.
Tony listed the following points about the Armour of God:
- The Belt of Truth: Truth is a person – Jesus Christ (John 14:6). The Belt of Truth protects us from the lies of the enemy.
- Breastplate of Righteousness: Righteousness is a gift from God, not something that needs to be earned (2 Corinthians 5:21).
- Feet Fitted with Readiness of the Gospel: Be prepared to share the gospel with others at all times (Matthew 28:19-20).
- Shield of Faith: Used to defend ourselves from the arrows of the enemy (Hebrews 11:6).
- Helmet of Salvation: The helmet helps us to avoid sinful thoughts, having discernment of what is good and true (Romans 12:2).
- Sword of the Spirit: The sword of the spirit is the Word of God (John 1:1).
- Prayer: The devil trembles at prayer, he understands the power it holds. It’s both a defensive and an offensive weapon (James 5:16b).
