Synopsis of Message:
Tony Nzanza brought this week’s message: The Uniqueness of Jesus’ Leadership. While many of us may regard leaders as those standing in front, managers, or directors, Tony reminded us that we all play a leadership role in one way or another. In your home, work, sports team, LG, etc.
Tony highlighted five lessons we can learn from Jesus’ unique leadership:
- Servant Leadership – Jesus washing the disciples feet – Mark 10:43-44; John 13:4-5
- Boldness to confront difficult situations – Not afraid of confronting difficult situations – Mark 11:15-17
- Patient with the rebellious – Jesus knew Judas would betray Him, yet he was patient with him – John 12:6; Mark 14:10
- Man of prayer – Prayer demonstrates our dependence on God. You can’t lead effectively without prayer – Luke 5:16; Hebrews 5:7
- Man of humility – Humility seeks to bring glory and honour to God. It may require you to lay down your life for those you’re leading – Colossians 3:12-14
Discussion Questions:
- Which one of Jesus’ leadership qualities do you best identify with and why?
- As you reflect on “Servant leadership” – What does “washing someone’s feet” look like for you?
- What needs to shift in your life for you to be more like Jesus in your leadership?
