Rebuild 2022 – Week 1

Speaker: Daniel Erasmus

Worship: Spend time throughout the week during your time with God listening to Something Good by Gateway Worship. As you spend time in worship, reflect on God’s goodness and that He is always faithful.

Check-In: Share a story of when you heard God call you to do something and that you said yes to or a time when you saw Him carry you through a difficult time (like Daniel’s pothole road).

Bible Readings: Isaiah 58:11-12; Psalm 126:5; Galatians 6: 9; Nehemiah 1:4; Nehemiah 2:12, 17; Proverbs 27:23; Luke 19:41-42; Exodus 3:4-10. (Take time to read through the book of Nehemiah)

Preparation and Discussion for Group Time:

  1. Share with the group what you wrote on your card as you answered the question: What brick is in my hand (what can I do, bring, offer, talent, time, treasure?)
  2. Based on what Ps Daniel shared today, and what you’ve experienced here – what do you think our key culture characteristics are? Share how you have contributed or want to contribute to how our culture is displayed.
  3. Discipleship is not a linear journey, but one that is transformative and has depth, breadth, and height. What could you do in your personal time to grow, as well as be part of growing groups?
  4. Ps Daniel spoke about having a “holy discontent” for NextGen – kids and teens. If God has called us to focus on this, then what/how can we use what God has given us (put in our hand) to be part of seeing lives transformed. What part will you play to help rebuild/build into NextGen?

Check out and Prayer time:
Share with the group the next step you need to take: Baptism, join a serve team – sign up to be part of a Next Gen Team, lead/co-lead a Life Group.

Pray for one another that we are committed to rebuilding and to participating not in our own strength, but in God’s. Commit to praying weekly as a group for our church, for our leaders, for growth in discipleship across generations, for our NextGen, and for a culture that embodies love God, love people.

Love God:
Meditate on Isaiah 58:11-12; take time to pray for what God is doing in our church and what God is asking you to do. Then take a step and commit to what God asks you to do.

For personal study, here are some suggested YouVersion and RightNow Media devotionals:
