Ruth – WEEK 3: God Unveils His Plan

Worship: Spend time throughout the week during your time with God listening to Goodness of God by Bethel. As you spend time in worship, be reminded that God is still working in your life because He is a Good God.

Check-In: If a movie were made about your life, which actor/actress would play you? Why?

Bible Readings: Anchor: Ruth 3:1-18; Joshua 1:9 {TLB); John 1:5 (TPT); Ruth 2:20 (MSG); Proverbs 19:21 (MSG); Exodus 34:6; Psalm 91:4; John 1:14; Hebrews 2:14; Hebrews 4:15-16; Ephesians 1:4-5; 1 Peter 1:3

Preparation and Discussion for Group Time:

  1. Boaz is described as a man of Godly character and nobility. What can you learn from his life and apply to your own this week?
  2. Throughout Chapter 3, we see the recurring theme of God’s providence (definition: God’s faithful and effective care and guidance for everything He has made) as He weaves together the circumstances of Ruth and Boaz.

In whatever season you are in currently, how have you seen God’s providence in your life? How have you identified His providence looking back at situations that seemed hopeless at the time?
  3. Read Ephesians 1:4-5. God’s plan all along was for Jesus to be our Kinsman Redeemer. Share with the group what areas of your life you need Jesus to redeem. What practical steps can you take this week to bring this to Him?

Prayer time: Pray that God would show you His providence in the season you find yourself in now.

Love God:
Read 1 Peter 1:3 and be encouraged that in Jesus, we have been redeemed and now have new life in Jesus.
