Week 7: The Church I See
Worship: Spend time throughout the week during your time with God listening to Goodness of God by Bethel Music. Acknowledge that He is good and that we have so much to be grateful for.
Check-In: Share with the group how you have intentionally gone deeper in your relationship with God this week.
Bible Readings: Anchor verse: Matthew 16:18 (NIV). Read the following Scriptures: 1 John 2:28 (MSG); Proverbs 23:18; Hebrews 11:8-10 (GNT); Joshua 1:9 (MSG); Luke 15:17-24; John 13:35 (MSG); Matthew 9:36 (TPT); Luke 15:32 Romans 12:13
Preparation and Discussion for Group Time:
- What one thought do you have after hearing Sunday’s sermon and the 1 John 2:28 verse that the new vision is anchored in?
- Love God. Love People. That is who we are as Edge Church. Share with the group what excites or what may challenge you about this and why.
- Reread the Luke passages. We see the loving heart of the father but also the indifferent attitude of the brother. Share with the group how you relate to either of these.
- As Edge Church, we are committing to Love God (Discipleship and Evangelism), Love People (Community Care) and a Culture of Love, what next steps could you be taking in one of these areas as we move into a new season?
Prayer time: Ask the Holy Spirit to help you take the necessary next steps that you are committing to in the next week.
