Run Together

Week 2: Run to Others!

Purpose: To show God’s unfailing love to others with an extravagant outward demonstration towards others.

Worship: Listen to the song throughout the week or at group Reckless Love by Bethel Music. Spend time reflecting on God’s love for you and others!

Check-In: Share what became clearer this week about running together in unity as a group!

Bible Readings: Read the following in The Message and The Passion Translation: Ephesians 4:1-6; 1 Thessalonians 3:11-13; 1 John 4:19; Ephesians 3: 18–19; 1 John 4:7–9; John 13:34–35; Acts 20:22-24

Preparation and Discussion for Group Time:

  1. What did God speak to you from our key verses in Ephesians or from Sunday’s message that you are challenged or encouraged by to take into your week?
  2. Read 1 John 4:19 and 1 John 4:17-19. We can only RUN in LOVE when we know our source. How does the Bible define love? How are you getting to know God daily – the source of love for us and others?
  3. Allocate each of these sets of verses to read and comment on what they say about running together, loving God and loving others: 1 Thessalonians 3:11-13; Ephesians 3: 18–19; John 13:34–35; Acts 20:22-24
  4. Share how you will SHOW God’s love to others and what does GO mean for you personally.
  5. We heard on Sunday a story of God’s love for a family. Share your story of how God has loved you with one person. Not your salvation story, but a story of how you know and experience His love for you.

Prayer time and Check-out:
Thank God for His love for you. Be specific about how He has shown His love to you personally. Commit to “show” God’s love in the coming week.

Take time to pray for those you have been praying for that they would know God’s love for them.

Daily Practices to follow:
For personal study, here are some suggested YouVersion devotionals:

Memorize 1 John 4:19 (TPT). Read this verse daily, and journal what God is saying to you about His love for you and for others.

Personal, your 1-one-1:

  • What does ‘show’ and ‘go’ mean for you as you engage with those you are praying for?
  • Christmas is less than 7 weeks away – this is an opportunity to begin to pray for those you will invite to join you at a service.
  • Invite your friends and family to join you for church online at your home
