Hope in Crisis

Purpose for the session: To grow our hope in God in the midst of the crisis.

Worship: Listen to the song throughout the week or at group “There is nothing our God can’t do.” By Passion Music. Give thanks for all He has already done for you and then talk to God about the things you are believing Him for.

Check-In: Share what practical step you have taken to grow in your Up/In/Out in the days ahead!

Bible Reading: Read Acts 27 (whole chapter) especially v 21-25, Psalm 23 and John 16:33 (NLT)

Preparation and Discussion for Group Time:

  1. Read Acts 27, noting how prominent and assertive Paul is. Although he is a mere prisoner on the ship, he seems to lead and initiate all the decisions, like he is the captain! In what ways does this challenge you about your role in this crisis?
  2. As you read Psalm 23 think about who God is and what this Psalm is highlighting for you. Share this with the group.
  3. How does being sure of “who you are” help you to be bold and courageous? (V23)
  4. “Beyond the crisis, you still have a purpose”. (V24) Share what you believe is God’s purpose for your life.

Check out and Prayer time: Share what God has spoken to you about from the sermon and this discussion and pray that back to God.

Others:

Consider practical ways that your life group could “lead and initiate solutions” in this season – more than you are already doing.

Continue taking the opportunity to invite those you are praying for to attend church online with you.

Daily Practices to follow:

Memorize John 16:33(NLT). Reflect on what you know about God and how He has overcome the things of this world. “Never doubt in the dark what God told you in the light”. What has God told you in the light that you may be doubting now in the dark? Journal And talk to God about this.
